On a very rainy day in May Onze Luchtmacht organised a tour to the German air base Wittmund, where the local squadron JG71 Richthofen operated the mighty F-4F Phantom. Despite the weather conditions we had a great day, visiting the various shelters and maintenance hangars. At the end of the day the weather cleared just enough for some Phantoms and Skyhawks to depart and we were allowed to witness the take offs close-by.
