Kleine Brogel was the first spotters event Robert and I attended since the start of the Covid crisis. And we were not the only ones, it sometimes felt like a reunion!
On Saturday the weather did not cooperate and just like the rest of the 2021 summer we were treated to clouds, sometimes heavy clouds, rain and a very occasional ray of sunlight. Not the best photographic conditions, but that couldn't spoil the fun: jet noise, being close to the action, french fries and slap geouwehoer... boy, did I miss that! Absolute highlight was the French E-2C Hawkeye, first time I saw that plane.
The organisation was great as always and the coordination between Sanicole, KB Air Traffic Control and the spottersday organisation lead to great flybys and even visitors that were not scheduled upfront. I ended up with a nice mixture of photos and although my skills were a bit rusty I was pretty pleased with Saturday's result, the heavy showers on the way back could not wash the smile from my face.
